Col. David Hall Chapter, DAR invites the community to take part in a special America’s Tapestry stitching event on Saturday, February 28, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
This hands-on event will focus on stitching the Delaware panel, a 35” x 45” textile that highlights Henry Fisher, a significant Revolutionary War patriot and river pilot who lived in Pilottown near the Maull House. Fisher played an important role in Delaware’s maritime and Revolutionary history.
The event will be held at the historic Maull House, owned by the Col. David Hall Chapter, DAR, and was originally purchased in 1739 by Luke Shields, a river pilot and contemporary of Henry Fisher.
Once completed, the Delaware panel will travel across the country as part of a national exhibit alongside panels representing the other 12 original colonies, telling the collective story of America’s founding through needlework and craftsmanship.
All are welcome to stop by, observe, and learn more about this unique national initiative that blends history, art, and community participation.
