Lewes Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade

  • 347 Savannah Rd Lewes, DE, 19958 United States (map)

This year’s theme: Lewes Celebrates American’s 250th anniversary of independence.

The 93 rd Annual Lewes Christmas parade, presented by the City of Lewes and the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, takes place on December 6, 2025 at 5 pm (Rain/Snow Date: Sunday, December 7 at the same time.)

The Honorary Grand Marshall is Warren Golde, who 24 years ago founded Lewes in Bloom, a volunteer organization beautifying the public gardens and spaces throughout Lewes-parks, streets and even the drawbridge! At the parade’s conclusion, the official Lewes Christmas tree in Zwaanendael Park will be lit by Lewes Mayor Amy Marasco, followed by candlelight caroling, led by Christy Taylor and some of her music school students.

Parade kicks off at 5 pm at Lewes Elementary School (820 Savannah Road), turns on Second Street and ends on Second Street in front of Kings Ice Cream Shop. Second Street is closed to vehicular traffic earlier in the afternoon at 3 pm and all vehicles must be off the street when it closes. Food and Beverages are available at the restaurants in the historic commercial district along the parade route.

No outside vendors are permitted.

Parking is very limited along Savannah Road as well.

Spectators line the parade route to watch the parade on the sidewalks on Savannah Road and Second Street.
